I’m Michael Ellenby - hiker, climber, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and lifelong outdoors enthusiast.
I didn’t summit Kilimanjaro on my first attempt. I learned the hard way that gym fitness isn’t mountain fitness.
So I rebuilt my training from the ground up.
In total, I’ve climbed Kilimanjaro (3x), trekked to Everest Base Camp (2x), climbed Mount Vinson in Antarctica, completed the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim and Rim-to-River, and taken on long-distance hikes across remote terrain worldwide.
More importantly, I’ve learned how to train specifically for long days, heavy packs, steep climbs, altitude, and fatigue.
